One-Piece Molded Delphes Countertops

One-piece molded DELPHES countertops now include a polished chrome overflow, at same price as before. Effective now, this change only applies to one-piece molded countertops. There is no overflow on top mount DELPHES sink or undermount DELPHES sink.

Important note : When the one-piece countertop has a backsplash, the chosen faucet must have a maximum diameter of 2 3/8". This precaution prevents faucet from coming into conflict with the backsplash.

Note that the overflow is the same as in the MINI collections.

News From Watermark Designs

If you’ve done business with us at any point in the last 30 years, you know how much pride we take in our finishes. We offer 24 standard finishes and we have also collaborated with many architects and designers on custom finishes for residential and contract projects. We like a good challenge!

We’ve recently invested in a new PVD machine so we could offer polished and satin PVD brass finishes. We consider this an investment not only in the technology but in the future of our company as this type of finishing process gives us total control over the quality and the lead times, versus contracting with an outside firm. If you are not familiar with PVD finishing, here is a brief description:

Physical vapor deposition (PVD) describes a variety of vacuum deposition methods which is used to produce coatings. PVD is characterized by a process in which the material goes from a condensed phase to a vapor phase and then back to a thin film condensed phase. Most coatings have high temperature and good impact strength, excellent abrasion resistance and are so durable that protective topcoats are almost never necessary.

All of our finishing is done in-house..all of it. This is something we say with pride because it is not typical of every faucet manufacturer. In fact, we have a PVD technician whose sole job is to oversee these machines. David Vargas, technician extraordinaire is many things aside from the just our PVD magician. We asked David to tell us a bit more about himself:

What type of training/background experience do you have that makes you the best person to oversee the PVD machines?

I was a pharmaceutical coating lead operator for five years. I have mastered color coating, film coating, sugar coating (on certain types of pills) and PVD coating. I have SOPs and cGMPs coating certification from the FDA.

What do you find the most interesting aspect of a PVD finish?

What I find most interesting about PVD finishes is the way the coating gives the product a new strength and shine.

Do you have a favorite PVD color?

My favorite PVD finish right now is High Brass.

Do you find yourself looking at colors and wondering if you could somehow do that on a faucet?

Actually I do! Just the other day I saw a metallic blue car and thought that would be a cool color to do on a faucet!

Do you have a favorite Watermark product (you can tell us…everyone has a favorite)

The Elan Vital is my favorite

What do you do outside of work to relax (that you’d like to share with us)?

I’m a musician. I’ve been playing since I was eight years old. I play many different instruments; 14 different ones. But my main instrument is the upright bass, which I play as first chair in the York College Chamber Orchestra

What is the most surprising thing about working for a company like Watermark Designs

The thing that I like most about the company is the unity. Here you can go up to anyone and they will help you out. We are all a team and we all want each other to succeed.

Watermark Designs’ Brooklyn Faucet Collection Celebrates 10 Years of Design

When Avi Abel met with Drew Stuart, Adam Rolston and Gabriel Benroth of Incorporated Architecture & Design (Inc.) about a project in New York, they weren’t fully aware of the significance that their collaborative design and resulting collection would ultimately have. As the faucet celebrates its 10th year, it has become symbolic of everything that Watermark Designs represents; designed and manufactured entirely in Brooklyn, there was never a doubt as to what the collection would be named: Brooklyn – the original.

This past year, Watermark Designs became members of Be Original Americas, an organization committed to informing, educating and influencing manufacturers, design professionals and individuals on the economic, ethical and environmental value of authentic design while preserving and investing in its future.

As Brooklyn turns 10, Avi Abel is honoring the faucet by teaming up with Watering Minds, an organization whose sole mission is to provide clean drinking water to children in Haiti. Throughout 2018, Watermark Designs will be donating a portion of Brooklyn collection proceeds to this important charity.

“We take many things for granted in the United States, clean water being one thing, and when I learned about the critical need for clean water for children in Haiti, I knew I had to help. I have teamed up with Watering Minds and their charity, which gives back to the community by providing essential clean water to schools,” says Avi Abel. “For $10.00, we can provide a schoolchild with access to clean drinking water for an entire school year. That’s basically the cost of lunch for one day for us.” He goes on, “The global water crisis affects many developing countries and Haiti is not an exception. Without clean water, children experience diarrhea, become dehydrated and die. It’s that simple and it’s very sad. So much of it can be prevented with access to clean water.”

During the 2016-2017 school year, Watering Minds funded 19,842 students at 146 schools with clean water delivered everyday. Overall, 1,276,528 liters of clean water were delivered to students at schools that were previously unable to provide clean water for their students. The rates of school attendance improved greatly when the school became capable of providing water. Education is vital to Haiti being able to help itself, and offering this necessary resource supports students’ learning.

The celebration of the Brooklyn’s 10-year reign as an innovative and quintessentially New York product is coupled with Watermark Designs’ commitment to design authenticity and charitable giving. Their partnerships with Be Original Americas and Watering Minds position them as faucet forerunners and human rights conscious manufacturers as their characteristic collection hits the decade mark.

New Tub Overflow Location

Changing overflow location

Starting now, the overflow of the HOME 1 bathtub will always be positioned above the drain. You no longer have to specify the location of the overflow.

This decision facilitates order processing and improves the bathtub aesthetics (no impact on the installation).

We know there are many choices available for faucets, however we really believe that those who choose to work with us know they are getting products that are not only made right here in our beloved Brooklyn but that are authentic and made to the highest standard. It is with this in mind that we recently became members of Be Original Americas, a non-profit organization committed to informing, educating and influencing manufacturers, design professionals and individuals on the economic, ethical, and environmental value of authentic design while preserving and investing in its future.

We remain committed to designing products of value, and we appreciate everyone who also believes in and supports authentic design.

Here are two of our most unique designs. Our Brooklyn faucet is coming up on its 10th anniversary, and so clearly does Brooklyn represent U.S. manufacturing and the city of Brooklyn, it was displayed in the “Made in New York” installation at the Museum of the City of New York’s South Street Seaport Museum. Elements is our newest collection and one that delivers on its promise to provide complete customization.

Inspired by mid-century gate valves and garden hoses, our Brooklyn faucet was designed in collaboration with the New York design studio Incorporated Architecture & Design INC). Resembling spokes connected to the axle of a Ferris wheel, Brooklyn’s handles radiate a distinct, historical style treasured by urban loyalists. The collection is available in any of our 24 finishes, and it includes widespread, single hole and wall mount faucets, as well as thermostatic shower, floor and vessel fillers.

Elements

Our newest design, Elements, offers the ability to play with color, form and texture, in the creation of a unique design statement. The Elements collection is the first self-designed faucet collection; redefining custom design by giving the consumer an endless possibility of faucet choice combinations. The Elements collection is comprised of fourteen handle styles, called Covers which were designed by the Watermark Designs Studio. The Covers are grouped into four material categories that each provide texture and additional interest. The categories are: RAW, ROCK, LUMBER and FORGED.

Each Cover has a base made of brass which is available in any of Watermark’s 24 finishes. Along with the base, there are two options for Inserts, which are decorative and also help provide additional grip. The Inserts are available in two styles: Bridge style and Scallop style. These Inserts are also available in any of Watermark’s 24 finishes. The Inserts are snapped into place and held using Watermark’s patent pending rare earth magnets.

There are also several faucet Body choices – also available in 24 finishes and when taken together, the number of design options is almost 387,072!

With the many options available for Elements, the design team – a collaboration with Watermark Designs’ UK partner, The Watermark-Collection, and Watermark Designs – developed a website exclusively for Elements. The site acts as a tool to help people design their individual Element collection.

Vanico-Maronyx renews its melamine and thermo color selection. The colors below will be discontinued as of July 10th. The new colors are already available. The distribution of the samples has begun and will be completed this month. 

We invite you to sell the furniture in your showroom that shows the discontinued colors.

Please note that we will soon review our selection of wood and Distinction colors. We will notify you at the appropriate time.

New Sample Books

The distribution of the new colors will be made via our new sample books. For the moment you will receive melamine and thermo books only. The sample books for wood, countertop and Distinction colors will be distributed around August-September. In the meantime please keep your actual displays until you receive all the sample books.

Color Code Changes

Please note that some color codes have changed in order to help categorization (see in red). Thermo now always starts with the letter "T", but there is no change in the numbers. You can use either code.

We are proud to share some great news with our customers and fans: our most popular faucet and shower fixtures have met the stringent EPA certification criteria and as such, we are now able to use the WaterSense® label. Products bearing the WaterSense® label have been independently certified to perform well; help save water, energy and money; and encourage innovation in manufacturing.

Our products have always satisfied WaterSense® standards, but now with the WaterSense® labeling, it’s even more apparent that our products meet and in fact exceed many of the most stringent environmental criteria. Since consumers are able to search for products right on the EPA.gov website, we are proud to have our products listed in the Bathroom/Sinks/Faucets and Showerheads section.

New Catalog and Prices from Catalano

New Catalano product catalogs dated December 2016 are being distributed to showrooms now and replace the December 2015 catalog. Prices will be implemented December 15th.

The new Catalano catalog features two new series of products ~ the Green Collection contains four series , Green, Green Lux, Green Up and Green One.

Green UP 100 Washbasin

The Green Collection is distinguished by soft rounded corners and extremely thin edge profile, a result of pressure casting manufacturing. This is a Catalano advantage and not easily duplicated by competitors. Take advantage of this feature when previewing with your clients. You'll also note four new matte finishes along with a matching toilet and seat in the same colors.

Premium UP 60 Washbasin

The Premium Up collection, another new addition to the existing Premium collection with shapes similar to Zero and Zero Domino but with a slightly thinner profile. Left and right hand basins and counter tops are very useful in situations calling for an off-set drain.

The best part of the new catalog announcement is that many products have reduced prices.
